fuel tank sending unit

I would like to know if someone has the part# for the sending unit, hit a bump and the unit took a dump, sitting in Cheyenne Wy. with the low fuel light on.
 Thanks Bill.

Maybe a wire Bill. That sender has no moving parts, looks like a rod. Probably have to get it from foretravel. I don't know the part number, but they will know which one it is.

Bill,
Take a look at:

Centroid Fuel Sender Calibration

Pictures of current sender, complete with part numbers.

I agree with Ron though.  A sudden change to zero doesn't seem to be a likely sender failure mode.  A poor connection or a dash meter failure seems more likely.  Key off to key on, does the fuel gauge meter move at all?  If no, have you tapped the meter face?  I have had meter pointers stick on two occasions -- I don't remember which ones.

Thanks Ron and Neal, I will check the wiring when we get to Douglas,WY. tomorrow, what I don't under stand is the low fuel light is on and the tank is full, I have tapped on the gauge and there is no movement and no movement when turning on the key.
 Thanks again.

Finally had time to check the wiring on the fuel sender,12v on the + to ground with the wires off of the sender, cleaned all the connections, replaced them with dilectric grease, no change, then I marked the location of the full adjustment screw, turned it in both directions and reset it, no change, I will send an E Mail to James T and see what he has to say,oh the low fuel light is still on.
