ultimate winterization

I've always told Kathy (my Wife) that the best way to winterize our coach is to drive it Southward and stay ahead of the cold.  Well  ----  commencing Thurs morning, we are going to do just that.  We plan to stay up high in the Rockies until we get to southern Colorado and are hoping that we can stay ahead of any early freezing temps up that high.  May have to drop down the Eastern side sooner than planned if the weather gets iffy.  Plan to be in Arkansas by late Sept.  Looking forward to some visits along the way. Thanks and have a great day  ----  Fritz

If the weather does not cooperate (as the Farmers Almanac is predicting) don't forget to take plenty of antifreeze for yourself and DW...I understand vino, bier and other distilled products help the old pipes... doctors and other interferences allowing, that is... :o

Fritz, Stay in the Rockies as late as you can, roads will not get real bad til after second snow or so, Aspens in fall are gorgeous and the crowds are usually gone after labor day until ski season starts.  There is always a way to get away from bad roads and weather when it turns bad, it usually does not stay bad for long early in the winter.

Anytime in Sumitt county it is freezing or even above be careful of black ice on shaded patches of the road. Most anything in the sun is good but with the sun arc lower it casts shadows on the road in a perfect bright day where its above freezing in the sun.

Dont ask me how I know, but on the down slope from Leadville,  many prayers were repeated... slid ove 200 feet in a car. :o

Dub  ----  Where is lake Greason??  We will probably be close to Hope on our way out of Arkansas around the first of the year, could possibly catch up with you then.

Barry and Donna  ----  Mayflower is a bit East of Rogers where we will be, but we are considering a trip to Tenn. or further East sometime in Nov (probably).  If we do that, we'll make contact for a visit.

Thank you and have a great day  ----  Fritz

Our son has lived in Leadville for about 15 years ... I have heard stories!!  We began winterizing our coach by driving it south in 2008.  It works VERY well!!

Carol. Down hill toward 70 to Denver there's a curve then straight partly shaded ???
Scared me. Like Leadville had to stay there many a time then to Silverthorne and west.
