Slide partially extended then died

Followed usual room extend procedure;slide extended 3" then died; pressing the room extend switch can hear the pump running;  pressed the room retract switch, can again hear the pump running;  released the switch, pump stopped.  The limit switch  indicator panel in the bay showed green unlock lights on for all three pins except  Upper Front.  Waited awhile tried again, it extended another 3" (now at 6" extension) same result.  Retried a few more times, slide remained at its current 6" extended position.  Coach will not go into gear with the slide in this position.  Usual tech assist mailboxes at FOT are full;  HWH is backlogged 4-6 weeks for return calls.  We're to leave on a trip early Sunday...hope to have the slide working;  or else forced release the valves and crank it back in.

Background note:  The last couple of trips,  the slide behaved the same after extending a few inches; I would wait awhile,  hit the switch and the slide would complete to full extension OK.  Retract always worked OK.  This time no go.

UPDATE:  Waited a couple of hours, retried retraction of slide and it worked fine; thus I'm able to move the coach at last.  However, have some reluctance to try the extend process again until I hear some feedback on what may have caused it.

When mine acted that way, it was the inflatable seal deflating.  A cheap "y-adapter" fixed the problem by forcing the vacuum generator to run the whole time the slide was in operation.  My tech had no trouble getting HWH on line to help solve the problem.

my slide would not extend. I had a board touching the steel plate on the box. It caused the 40 amp fuse to short out after a bit.

It was wire tied behind the pump.

Not sure if the solenoid valves might be blamed?  ...As in one not sealing strong enough to make the pressure go where it is supposed to when the voltage is applied?  I'm not sure how similar 2001 slides are to 2002s.  Good luck!!
