Whistle under dash

On our way north this trip my wife noticed an annoying "whistle" while underway. It occurs when we reach 40-42 mph, it is coming from under the dash more to the left of the driver
than the right, sorta behind the speedometer. It gets louder the faster we go above 45 mph. I had my S-I-L ride with me today and he did the seeking, it got significantly louder when we raised the top off the dash. There was no breeze, there has been and is no water leaking. It is not effected by AC, radio, turn signals, hazard beeper or any other variable than the speed. It is getting worse, enough so that as deaf as I am, I can hear it clearly. It is intermittent, but more there than not? Anyone had a similar noise or have any ideas about squelching this noise?
The speedometer and tach fork fine, the dash instruments OK, also.

Could be a whistle from wind noise up front.

Use some wide blue tape (non permanent) to mask off possible areas. Drive and listen.  Repeat until you have eliminated wind noise as the culprit.

We had a noise similar to the sound described, it was coming from the center windshield gasket on the bottom. Just listening, it was difficult to place the location of it's origin. When I examined the windshield of close, I was able to see a very slight gap on the driver side windshield about the last 4 inches on the bottom right hand side looking from the inside of the coach. It was fixed temporarily with some 3M rubber tape ordinarily used to wrap electrical connections and make them watertight. It fuses to itself and sticks to rubber very well indeed. After more then two months, It is still holding up.

If it is louder the faster you go, it is outside air coming into coach. As a whistle, it must be a very small hole.

Tape up around windshield, wiper, washer, etc. or driver slower.

Barry, DW would be happier with the last solution. As for the first, I will start that process as soon as I get back on the road after Labor Day.
Thanks, Brett, Don, Barry.
ps, I have the tape.

Well, well. Driving from Plattsburgh to home I stopped at nearly every rest stop and taped up something or other, one place at a time, first segments of the windshield gasket, then generator hatch. then, then the washer nipples, etc. At last DW suggested the driver's rear view mirror mount. Voila! The noise (whistle) stopped. I am and my wife is a HAPPY CAMPER.
Now I can drive faster.

Some times, the overhead spot light can cause strange noise, the fix , turn it so it is pointing sideways. I had this happen to me.

Are you talking about the main mount where it bolts to the front cap? I have been having the same problem and even FOT can not find the source of the noise. I have taped a lot of places on the windshield and side windows and have not located the noise.
I will give the area you are talking about a covering of the blue tape and see what happens.

Donald, Yup, the big chrome base bolted to the front corner just below the windshield. I haven't checked the screws yet but the unit is not loose so I suspect
some caulking is in order. I do not want to go to the expense of checking with Ramco for a gasket.
