Brad:  I bought my LED's from the same source as yours.  The pictures show uneven pegs.  Ours are even, and now appear to work in my lamps.  I didn't realize that the poles were polarized until this discussion.

I confess to not thinking about that at first either, as I tried the bulbs both ways to get them to work.  I was thinking it was a "fit" issue.  It wasn't til much later that I realized that DIODES must be polarized as that is their nature (passing current in only one direction).  Then it was a big DUH! moment for me when I realized it.

This afternoon I bought 4 LED lights for the bedroom swing arm fixtures. The wife's reading lamps had retired, one at a time. I checked the physical properties; 2 opposed studs at the same depth and 2 contacts at the bottom base.

Noticed, as pointed out that the stud position on the LED is not the same as the old bulb, requiring more pressure to "fit" and also having to lift the contacts in the fixture. Having done this, the bulbs lit up. Excellent colour and brightness, one bulb would not be enough to read comfortably with.

I struggled with the other side. Out with the voltmeter and discover the push switch is not working.

Then I read here about changing bulbs. Same thing happened when I discovered the last step, rotten. This really is an excellent forum to share the inevitable and the joy of the inconceivable.

I went back to the fixtures and rotated the bulbs (LED) 180 degrees. Lit up both ways. Did not think I was that lucky.

These are the bulbs I purchased;  Goldstar's LED double contact, made in China

              Beam pattern; 360 degrees
              Power watts;  2.6 watts
Voltage;          8 - 30 volts DC wide range, 12 VDC , 24 VDC and good for RV fluctuating power sources
              Emitting colour;  natural white
              LED Type;      5050 SMD
              Bulb Base;      1076 T25 BA15D

The bottom line;  $21.95 each cdn funds, lucky sale price today, 20% off!    Tom
