We just use a step stool for our 91GV, seems easier than adding an automatic step of some kind that seem to fail alot.  I wouldn't say don't do it, and if you do, it would be interesting to see how it works for you.  Have a great day  ----  Fritz

We are not to keen on electric either but wanted to know if there was anything like a manual metal could attach somewhere. My big pups are eager to get out and afraid of accidents if steps aren't secure. I'll keep looking!

If anyone knows, it would be on this Forum.  You might also call the Service department at Foretravel and see if anyone has ever done the job(to their knowledge) and see if there was any info on the procedure. I would also call Xtreme and see if they have ever done a modification like this.  They have invented and reconfigured some pretty nifty stuff!

If you are talking about a U-225/240 we have talked to a couple and looked at there U-240 that they added a step to. She was vertically challenged and needed something more stable than a portable step.  It add but about 4" step below the door frame. Here is a link to the step that they used.  RV-19    They had to go in under the step well and reinforce the basement floor so the bolts would hold in something other than the fiberglass skin and the insulation that is sandwiched in between.

Our '94 -36' -U225 had an electric step added when we bought it.  It may have been added by Foretravel or Encore.
The PO had snagged it at the time we bought it.  I straightened it and snagged it myself two more times before I removed it.
It was great to have it but you just have to stay on pretty smooth  ground.
Not trying to talk you out of it,  just telling my experience.
We just carry a step in the compartment just aft of the door.
Good Luck.............~JL~
PS- It had (still has) four 3/8" or 7/16" bolt through some heavy structure (can't see that part) and through the belly pan.  It was very secure.
