Water Fill Question

On my 91 GV I filled the water tank until it ran out of overflow in front of right vrear tire. All drain valves under water heater are closed. There is a valve under bathroom sink that says open to fill,I opened that and filled tank. When tank was full I closed valve under sink and disconnected fill hose.I have  a small steady stream of water coming out of fill pipe. I thought maby the valve under sink was leaking internally and I replaced it today I still have a steady stream of water out of the fill pipe. Am I doing something wrong? Is there supposed to be a one way valve on the water in line?

Yes, there is a check valve at the water inlet.  Here is one:

I had the same problem with my water inlet. Installed a new one did not work a lot better. Solved the problem by installing a sharkbite check valve in the line right after the fill valve. Problem permanently solved.
