Fuel filler Air Hose vent

When I fill our fuel tank I have to "burp" the tank quite often. If I am using the large fuel nozzle I have to stop or hold the nozzle end away from the filler neck so the air can escape.

Shouldn't there be a vent hose to prevent the fuel from being pushed out by the pressure buildup in the tank?

If there isn't then how should I alter to get a vent line in? Or should I just leave well enough alone? I have gotten sprayed too many times already, even tho I try to be careful. I have to hold the hose nozzle away from the coach during the entire fill.

Raise the front of the coach in the air fully extending the jacks.  Yes you have to play with the air exhaust from the tank

As bob says, raise the front to allow air to burp from tank.  The ORED's have the tank in the center of the coach between the frame rails and that makes it necessary to have a long run of filler pipe and hose from the sidewall to the tank.  There is PROBABLY a vent line inside or adjacent to the filler pipe but with a high speed pump it can take a while to expel the air AND the fuel can very easily splash back on you if you get in a hurry.

OK, thanks guys. I guess I was just wondering. I do tend to get irritated when the fuel sprays back and gets me and runs down the side of the coach. It doesn't matter whether the coach is up on jacks or not. The fuel will backspray if I don't watch it and fill slowly.
It is not quite so bad with the smaller nozzle. It doesn't weigh as much as the larger truck size and does let some air by. The large nozzle does fill way to fast to let air out, even if the coach is tipped with the jacks.

That fill pipe is long and flat for a long ways and fills into the center, top to bottom of the tank which means it has to push the fuel into an area that already has fuel in it. Not the best design, but guess that is how Oskosh designed the chassis.
