Sad News about Steve Mudd

It is with a very heavy heart to let all who knew Steve Mudd from Dallas ,TX that he died on Tuesday, April 14th, while riding his motorcycle near Death Valley.
I do not have much information as to what took place, only that the a car following Steve said the bike stated to wobble then he went down.  The coroner told Steve's wife it was an instant death.
This comes as a huge shock to me as I spent this weekend, Sat. Sun and Monday, with Steve in Las Vegas. We visited the new bridge at Hoover Dam, Freemont Street Casinos Downtown, we stayed in the Main Street Casino RV lot, also on Monday we visited the Bellagio on the strip so that Steve could go over arrangement for his daughters upcoming wedding at the end of May.

RIP "Commander" Steve Mudd, I so enjoyed knowing you, laughing with you and calling you a friend over this these last few years and it was such a good time this weekend.

My respects and condolences to Steve's wife, Kathy to his Son and Daughter and their families.

Oh My God

Prayers for the family.  Steve was based here in the north Texas area, I believe.  Please let us know if we can be of any help.

Sounds like he left while doing something he really liked.  As a fellow motorcyclist AND FT owner, I wish I'd known him.  :'(

What a shock.  He had visited a number of times and I so enjoyed those meeting and phone calls with Steve.

Our prayers to his family.

Here is a copy of the email text I received regarding Steve's death:

"To all,
Although just a short in content update, the news is somewhat comforting, (and what we expected).
The autopsy revealed that Steve did die from a massive heart attack.  Plaque had broken free but traveled to, and clogged his main arteries, causing the fatal attack.  Death was reported to occur instantly.  Interesting to note however, Steve had a physical exam, including a stress test, only a few weeks ago and passed all with no problems.  He told Kathy he was feeling great and as good as when he was in his twenties.
The Family found this to be somewhat comforting, knowing too that it occurred just as Steve would have wanted: to die while riding the motorcycle, with the wind blowing through his hair."

A memorial Mass will be held in Dallas after Steve's ashes are received from Lone Pine, C.A. If anyone would like this information, please PM me and I will get back to you asap.

Heart disease is very scary--mainly because many (if not most) cases the victim has no symptoms!

Sad to about Steve.

The only way I know of to reliably detect plaque in the arteries is an angiogram, this is according to my Cardiologist.  The local hospital did a stress test of a co-worker of my wife's and and he collapsed and died in the foyer as he left.
