HWH service near Portland

Anyone have a good experience with a shop near Portland, OR?

Having problems with leveling. Had an appointment at HWH in Iowa but the diesel Aquahot decided to quit and forecast was for zero at night. Canceled the appt, asked for recommendation. HWH said their master service center in Central Point, OR should be able to help. Called but they only have experience with HWH hydraulics, not air.

Cummins NW in Coburg is listed as an HWH service center and a Foretravel service center. No idea if they have experience with this. Could be better off just heading home and seeing if HWH tech support can lead me through fixing this myself if it doesn't take much mechanical skill.

We're in Benson, AZ right now, will be heading to CA and North next week.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What about Oregon Motor Coach?  Oregon Motorcoach Center | Premium RV Service | Eugene, OR.

Several forum members have used them and reported a good experience (although I don't recall if any were for HWH leveling).  OMC is former Country Coach folks, I believe, and they are a Foretravel Authorized service center.

I looked at Oregon Motor Coach, may end up using them. Not sure if it means anything, but they are not listed by HWH as a service center.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I had a good experience at Coburg Cummins but it was not HWH related. There was another Foretravel there but he was just doing mechanical maintenance.

Have you checked out thr HWH Troubleshooting Guide? It is very good and easy ro follow.

Found two trouble shooting guides. One was for coaches with joystick leveling, one for series 2000 systems. Ours is a 680 series, HWH describes it as a bridge to the 2000 series.

Any idea where to locate the guide for the 680 series?

Will check with HWH next week.

Here is a link to the 680      HWH Operators Manuals for Foretravel      scroll down the page to find it. The are are 3 options for the 680 pick which applies to your coach

Mike,

What is your HWH system doing or not doing? Someone here may have had a similar problem and may be able to help get you going.  On a side note the HWH site can be hard to navigate if you arn't real familiar with it.

Thanks for the link but this for the operators manual which I have.

When we park in a site which is lower in front, the system will level if it can do so by dumping air from the rear. After a few hours, the passenger side front will have gradually raised, the driver side front will have gradually lowered. The change is up to two inches each side when measured at the air bags. The red led's continue to show the coach level, even though it's tilted enoughfor the pocket doors to slide open or closed if not latched. This change is not accompanied by the sound of air being dumped.

When I manually level the coach, the front won't raise, the rear raises just fine. When I turn off the leveling, coach raises to travel height with no problem.

Also have leaks to find and fix, coach sometimes relevels every couple of hours the first day in a site.

The problem at the front is consistent, the other problems are intermittent.

Thanks

Mike,

To be clear for diagnosis, yours isn't one of the IFS-equipped 2001 coaches, right?

No IFS here. Have to say IFS with the tighter turning would come in handy.

It sounds like three different problems. Solve them one at a time.
Can you raise the front of the coach with the raise button? Or with either left or right raise buttons?
They power the same pin or pins in the control box as the raise front button does. If they work you have checked the raise wiring and solenoids for the front. At that point I would check the modular cable connection on the back of the touch pad and the connection for that cable in the control box.
If they don't work check the fuses for the raise solenoids in the control box but it doesn't seem likely
they would both be bad.
If that doesn't solve the raise problem you may have a touch pad problem.
You are depending on one button (raise front) to power two valves.
For the left front to go down you either have a leak ( air bag, fitting, line or O ring under the dump solenoid ) or the dump solenoid is leaking out the vent next to that solenoid.
A leaking raise solenoid would cause that side to creep up. You car swap the two raise solenoids and see how that effects the problem.
Travel height works because it uses different solenoids and circuits.
Hope this helps!

I think I can do most of what you suggest, looks like a custom trouble shooting guide for my particular problems. Will put this off until we get home and I can work in my shop.

Will start around the end of March and post the results then. If I get through to HWH and locate a trouble shooting guide for the 680 series, will post it here.

Thanks

Found them -

Hate to admit it,but they were buried on my computer. In 2012 when we bought the coach, spent a lot of time going through the yahoo archives and the later posts on the new site. A search of my computer found over a hundred hwh files, including the two attached.

Between John's suggestions and the repair manual, think I'llbe able to identify the problem. Will post the results.

Thanks
