Splendid washer/dryer probably a dumb question

The FT owners manual states that the gray valves must be open to use the washer...very strange . Is this really necessary ...?

Thx

We keep our valve closed and monitor the gauges.  Nice to have grey water to flush hose after dumping the black tank.

My wife LOVES ours. I was concerned about water use when dry camping so called the Mfg.. I was told that they use 6-9 gal per use. If I am within 10 gallons of filling my gray tank, my fresh water tank is pretty empty.

No, butif your gray tank fills up it will usually back up into the shower and then overflow the shower onto the floor. So that is what you would need to be worried about if you left the gray valve closed
