Vacuum Switch for front dash air
Noticed the air on my dash was not coming from the vents but from the defrost vents on top. Inside the step flap from the outside I found a small hose broken loose from the vacuum switch. The one which goes to the small tank. Broken right off. This had been replaced with a Ford part as FOT does have the original part anymore. No auto stores in Tyler had the part and on Ebay the exact item but with different connectors for the power. Decided to repair the old one by JB welding the broken stem back on and then swink wrap for added strength. Appears to be holding. Put a shaved down tooth pick in there to ensure the JB weld did not stop up the stem and then pulled it out before it set , keeping the air line open. Found a post by Barry Beam about this.
