Paint work in Florida

Hey all,

I had an estimate for paint repair done by Parliament and wow, that is *not* happening.  Holy cow!  So I need to find someone else in the same general Tampa area.

For those that don't know our coach was painted at Foretravel in 2010.  I had the opportunity to scrutinize the paint on Sunday as I spent all day long washing and waxing the rig and unfortunately there are quite a few defects in the finishing. Everything from paint runs to uneven clear coat to bubbles in the clear coat, to a tear in the paint masking, to improper surface prep in a few spots.  They're small, few, and hard to notice but nonetheless I don't really think I need to pay (IMHO) crazy pricing to fix a small single color injury to an imperfect paint job that I wouldn't have accepted myself if I was paying for it to begin with.  Don't get me wrong the large wall surfaces look amazing and are well done overall but...  I guess I am just harder to please and ignorance of detail issues bugs me.

I can only assume Parliament wanted to repaint the entire panels and mix all the several colors in the panels in order to not attempt to blend clear coat.  That level of anality would probably justify the pricing.  Unfortunately I'll never know because they never took the time to justify their pricing to me when I baulked.  I think I can deal with clear coat blending if it saves me a new to me motorcycle in $ terms.  It can be done well and impossible to tell by someone skilled.  The damage is to only one color and they are far away from any other color which will help blending.  There is about 5 square inches of paint chips in one spot from the previous owner and a chain link fence incident and a gouge in the bottom of the bay door from me.  I started digging into it and have decided it's structurally sound.  A simple body filler sand and repaint would be more than sufficient.  I would say $650 or less for the total job depending on paint cost based on past experience.  I would have paid up to double that for a well known name.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced body shop in the Tampa (well Bradenton to be exact) area who anyone can recommend to do quality reasonably priced paint repair work on a motorhome?

I'd look for a boat repair shop with a good rep.  It shouldn't cost an arm and a leg and a good tech can match existing.  Like motorhomes, lots of boats are painted over gel these days.

I have friends that had there clear coat repaired and were happy with the work, as for price I don't know.
