Filter Barn?

Time to order filters.  Filter Barn prices are mostly less than half the price of say NAPA filters.  I'm scepticle...are their filters seconds, open box items, returns?  Or are they the same as what would be purchased from the manufacture.  I'm looking primarily at Fleetguard filters.

Excellent. I have been using them for many years as others have and all my fleetguard filters are new, sealed and I see no differences from buying elsewhere except they are so cost effective.

I just placed my first order with them about two weeks ago.  The filters came shipped in what I assume to be OEM shrink wrap and then hand wrapped in newspaper. Prices are cheaper than others and free shipping on orders over $100.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate the honest opinions.  I just placed my order for all filters.
I came across a thread on irv2 where the man stated that 2 of 4 filters he ordered from Filter Barn had expired shelf life dates.  He called FB and they apologized and immediately shipped him replacement filters that were not expired.  So I had some concern as this is my first purchase from FB.  Saved me about 50 percent of local prices.  :D

NAPA is handy but you pay for the convenience with list price for everything. Since I'm tighter than a tick, I refuse to pay list for a one dollar part.

Filter barn is good but your local trucking company may also be a local source at big savings. For the exact same filter, their prices are a little over half what NAPA charges and they ordered a one way valve for our U300 for $31 compared to the $65 most were paying on forums I had been reading.

Their yard is muddy with about 100 logging trucks going in and out, the office hasn't been cleaned in years and the guy at the counter looks to have just come off a three day bender but the parts are clean and new. Naturally, if you plan ahead, Filter Barn is pretty handy and you don't have to clean your shoes after shopping there.

FWIW I made a huge order and all the filters were new except the lube oil filter which for whatever reason was open but clearly unused.  Most likely a return.  I used it anyway as it looked perfect.
