It's Raining It's Pouring ..... the Coach is getting Soaked INSIDE!

Wow.... what did I do Today????
Baffled  by this leaking from the Slide Out on my 2000 U320.  The fact this is the first year for the slide... they were experimenting I guess??
The investigation began with taking down trim cover to expose the 'bow' brace to see IF the seal was tight, It WAS.
Further thought led to going outside (in the rain) to check on top of the slide and THEN it dawned on me.
The hole in the fiberglass where the locking pins goes HAD to be where the water pours into the coach.
BINGO.. covered the hole up with 'ductape' and lo and behold the water stopped leaking through the lights.!!
Somehow there is something missing... ??? to cause the water to pour in and come through the 2 round lights in the walnut trim!!
Guessing  silicone is lacking or something else? Wonder if it can be a home repair job?  Checking with James at FOT !
Has Anyone experienced This on your 2000 U320 ?

There is a rubber wiper gasket between the opening in the coach and the top of the slide.  I replaced mine this winter.  Not sure if will keep out rain but it does help keep junk off the top of the slide.

If you are getting water in through the slide pins holes or around the bladder, try tipping your coach to that side for better drainage.  If it has been raining I tip it that way and then back to level before retracting the slide.  I also tip to that side when dumping tanks.  Roger

Wow That was FAST !  Thanks for ALL the insight on water leaking in through the pin holes.  It's exactly what I envisioned was happening, after a while..NOW if only it stops raining so I can remove the ductape and get the silicone into the hole to seal it up properly.
Michelle, I appreciate your looking back into the archived conversations, very interesting to learn what others have done.

Had water leak on my big slide and it was coming in what I thought were drain holes.  I purchased some sealer and made sure it was dry and sealed the holes on top reaching in under the awning on the slide.  No more leaking.  You need to ck these every couple years for separation of the sealer.  This is an easy fix but can be a lot of water.  Dan

Also be aware the slide will sink in the middle over time. If it is coming in thru the pin holes it should come in thru the cabinets.  If it is coming in from on top you might need an extra grabber to pull the center section up on our first gen slides.
