Slide window

Is the window in the front slide by the booth an emergency exit window and does it have to be completely removed to be re sealed?
My window is leaking water at the bottom of the frame on the inside.
Anyone have or had this problem and how was it resolved?

Hi,

Have you concluded that rain water is entering from the outside of the window or from the roof of the slide and thus down inside the wall? Water entering the slide locking pin hole in the roof of the slide possibly could show up as leaking from the bottom of the window's inside trim. There should be a small plastic drain tube from the bottom of the slide pin hole to the bottom of the slide itself to allows water to drain away. You can clear any blockage of that tube by using compressed air to blow back up the drain tube. Though if you are in a downpour, the tube may not be able to handle that much water entering the slide lock hole and it to leak inside the coach ceiling and wall.

You also might check the slide seal. If you are parked with a slight tilt to the direction away from the slide - then rain could simply be running past the outside wiper above the slide. Or if you have a switch to shut off the DC air compressor, then an uninflated or poorly inflated bladder may allow rain to enter. This is similar to when retracting the slide after a rain, I have water dripping everywhere from above the slide.

In my case, with the slide out, rain comes in the slide from the area of the rear big, vertical wood trim  - essentially very close to the locking pin hole.

Thanks for the reply Jim.
If the awning is extended on the slide I have no leaks.
I'm assuming the window leaks in a heavy rain when the awning is retracted.

Actually, mine leaks whether the slide topper awning is retracted or not.

Oops, bet I miss-spoke - the leak occurs whether the awning is out or not, the slide topper is always out when the slide is out.

A while back we had a leak on that slide.  The problem was a broken zip tie that settled between the slide top and the air bladder.  I took a ladder and put it next to the extended slide and shined a flashlight looking where the air bladder meets the top of the slide and there was a zip tie.  I used a thin piece of plastic to clear out the broken zip tie.  Zip ties are used to hold wire bundles that run behind the header on the inside of the coach.  The wires are for lights and limit switches for the HWH slide mechanism.  You might also have a few pine needles up there or locking pin holes that are not sealed.  During that inspection I noticed that the wiper was in poor shape and replaced it.  I have no input on leaking windows.
