Generator start battery & ES52F Controller

Has anyone installed a separate start battery for the generator?
Does our PT 10KW use this ES52F Engine Controller and if so where is it?
Just reviewing the owner's manual... ;D

Our ES52 is attached to the generator but I believe your control box is mounted in the front drivers side compartment near the cooling fan. The ES52 is screwed in to the box lid with just two screws diagonally opposed. You need to remove the control box lid to see the ES52. It is about 4" square and has the status lights right in it, assuming your control box is similar even if not in the generator compartment like our all-in-one 8K Generator. I suppose the ES52F is just the Foretravel version. The one I got was a direct replacement except for one connector which was changed from earlier versions. I bought a new ES52 from a link given to me by Dave K. ES52 @ partsfortechs.com

Thanks, Don.
After looking at that link, I think maybe mine is built in to the front of the generator. At least it has some of the same indicator lights. See photo. Do you think this is a version?

Dick,
Unless I miss my guess, the ES52 is held in place to that panel with those two diagonal screws on either side of the indicator lights. Though our control box looks different, I believe if you were to remove the lid on your control box you would see the ES52 behind the panel. The lights are built into the box and stick out far enough to be proud of the sheet metal of the control box. I am attaching a cropped version your picture and and a product shot from the link. I think you can see how the lights line up with the box. The label in the product box is a stick on label that would normally be placed on the outside of the control box. At least that is how it was on our coach...

Dick,
Here are a couple of pictures that might make it clearer for those that come after... this a picture of our old ES52 and the new label that I haven't put on yet. The old one works again after I pulled the relay off and took it apart and cleaned the contacts. The relays themselves are available for about 5 bucks at the site that I posted a link to previously in the thread  (though the site has a surcharge for orders less than $25, IIRC). FYI, both relays are the same and easily changed out. I am sure you figured all this out already, but a future forum searcher might be helped by this, so here it is. ;D
