MOTs New Building

Well, I am at MOT and they are full up in the lot. It is amazing how much is going on in their service bays.  The new building across the street will eventually have a 50 spots of hookups and it will hose their delivery and remodel shop.  they are going to staff it with a few long time people from the shop here.  It will be interesting to see how they do with it.  I also heard there is plans for a 10 bay service center there as well.  That will make it a no brainer where to go for service. You should be able to get in in less then months.  In looking at FT, Davids shop is full up as usual.  I did not see many coaches in the bays for service. I wonder if that is why they are so backed up in getting an appointment.  I called for my appointment at MOT 4 weeks ago and could have gotten in sooner if I was here sooner.  I can't wait till they finish the build out next door. It will be a great benefit for FT owners.

David and his crew at MOT are dedicated to serving their customers.  That is why we bought there, go there for service, and refer others there for both sales and service.  I too am excited to see the new expansion and how it will benefit all who need service, want to trade up, etc.

Also their main service building now has closed off two of the room up doors on the back and they built in a pretty big office and that is where Mike Rogers will sit with the manuals and technical stuff.  I am impressed.

It all comes from the top. MOT has an owner who knows that "Todays quality is tomorrows reputation".  They are decicated to serving their customers ie.  new building and hookups.  Every customer is important and they realize that.  They go by "  If it is an emergency for you then it is an emergency for me"  not that "just because it is an emergency for you its not for me" attitude.  MOT remains close to and understands their customer base and that is why they are growing plus they do one thing "Take care of the motorhome owner"  FOT has too many divisions and service just not seem to be at the top of their list.  As you can tell MOT has won me over.  I love the fact, if I have a problem, they are there by phone to help and are always available.  I would pay for this service, if necessary,  but I will not be nickled and dimed.

This is great to hear. I think my experience at MOT is indicative of their customer service. I've never bought anything there or had any service done, however, I have stopped in several times to ask about a couple of different issues. Each of those times I was given personal attention by a very busy man. He answered all my questions and did not seem in any hurry to get me out the door. Next time in Nacogdoches, I'm heading to MOT for service. I would gladly pay for the hotline help too.

One of the best people at MOT is Mike Rogers, I would love to hire him to run my business in Virginia, a quality person, and yes there are others at MOT who are also of higher quality, why the entire operation seems to flow so smooth, helpful.
On the other hand I have always had great service at FOT shop for mechanical items, service.  I would not bad mouth FOT either.
Just am delighted for the choices for the care & feeding of my toy in Nac.  Also have had great luck with Tenn RV Service so far, and it being 1/3 the distance, 400 miles vs 1200 miles, there are items for them also.  Nice to have options.
Sure wish MOT & David & company, very best wishes for the future.

I don't understand. Are the bays empty because there aren't enough people to staff them? Are the service bays being used by other departments? I would think that if FOT has five service bays and staff to service five coaches at once then those five bays should be pretty much in use all the time during the day. If that's the case and there are still lengthy delays in getting in for service then more bays and employees are needed. If the bays are there but the employees aren't, then more employees need to be hired.

It sounds like MOT has decided that more service bays are needed so they are building them. Are they also hiring more employees to staff those additional bays?

YEs they are. I was just talking to one guy who used to work at FT and then worked here at MOT when David opened and got a job in the oil fields. Now he is back to stay. That is great as he knows our coaches and is pretty good.  I think it is interesting to see the empty bays too.

The issue is how to get experience.  I like how MOT has teams with one lead guy who checks on the others.  I have had 4 guys on my coach today.  I am sure I will have the same tomorrow.
