Condensate from the AC's

Just where is the condensate from the roof air conditioners supposed to drain off of the roof. The front unit on my coach is draining laterally onto the awning over my driver's side slide out and getting into the roller and rusting out the spring. I have replaced the spring 4 times and getting a bit weary of this. James T had nothing to add except seal up the openings in the tube.
Zip Dee was no real help except to offer a replacement tube and spring. Pretty nice, eh?
Anyway, back to square one, where is this condensate supposed to drain away?
Any other ideas about the rusting spring will be appreciated as well.

I remember reading that there is a drain kit that can be added to help direct the water where you want.  Seem to remember that someone routed it to the rear of the coach.

Hi Dan,

On my 2002 the condensate drains are "D" shaped rubber tubing that run the length of the roof thus channeling the water away from the sides of the coach. Over time mine have deteriorated quite a bit (lost height) to the point of not performing well. Maybe it would have helped if I had not placed 9 solar panels etc. up there and managed to trample the tubing. I would think the product is available online as well as the factory, but I don't know what to call it. Maybe check with Mike Grimes to see what they charge and go from there.

A quick Google search for "RV AC condensate drain kit"  got this hit.

Dometic Air Conditioner Drain Kit

They say:
    
This kit is recommended for use with most air conditioners when choosing to drain condensation to a 1/2" ID drain tube. Many Airstreams have a drain tube in their walls for this application. If you are restoring a riveted trailer and intend to use an air conditioner, we highly recommend installing the in-wall drain tube.

Allowing an air conditioner to drain onto the roof will water streaks on your trailer. On an aluminum vintage trailer, the discoloration is unsightly and the deposits can be hard to remove with polishing.

Installation of this kit adds only about 20 minutes to your air conditioner installation job.

This kit was specifically designed for Dometic Penguin, Brisk Air, and High Performance series air conditioners/heat pumps. However, it may work on other brands. See instructions

If you know you will be running air you can manually level the coach so the water runs where you want. Sounds like you want it to run to the passenger side. Just raise the drivers side or lower the passenger side. You can also raise or lower the level front to rear.

Jim:    My AC water just comes out on the roof and runs to the sides in the rear and over the slide awning.  There is no system to dispose of the water.

On my previous SOB I had this problem and so I ordered a kit which was a roll of self adhesive rubber channel and ran it from front to rear on each side of the coach and this forced the water to the rear.  It was made by 3M.

Doh... Just realized that your 2003 is not going to have a flat roof like mine...so never mind on the tilt the coach.  :not:  :headwall:

On a sloped roof coach a small bead of silicone caulk laid down will direct the water where you want it to flow off!
