SmartPlug vs Hubbell, and the winner is . .

This relates to a shore power cable that has a plug on the RV's end (and not a reel). 

(Ralph purchased SmartPlug in October 2014.)  We have had our SmartPlug installed for over a year

The following is an email I received today from an Escapees RV member who had a problem with his RV's Hubbell round twist shore cable plug:

"Hey Barry,

Don't know if you remember or not, but I bought one of the SmartPlugs that you recommended.  At the time, I chose not to install it because the Hubble plug was working so well on our 5th wheel.  Big mistake.

About a week ago, we were camped in Jasper National Park in Canada, when the Hubble shorted and fused to the connector on our RV.  Luckily, no fire happened, but it sure could have.  I have included a couple photos to show the damage.  Needless to say, we installed the SmartPlug immediately.

Thanks for your recommendation.  We should have changed the plug immediately..
