Tow ratings 1995 U280 GV

Brought this over from a "spotted for sale " thread. Michelle was kind enough to have posted a link to a tow rating thread from two years ago. Unfortunately there never was a conclusion as to the why's of the lack luster tow rating of the U280 Especially when compared to the U300 and whether it might have been very under rated to push folks to the U300. Which supposedly has the same frame, Suspension and drive axle.

As I posted at the other thread. I have seen this marketing driven de-rating of towing capacities first hand on both American & European cars and SUVs in respect to the USA Vs European version of the same car.

Therefore I want to ask the forum what their towing experiences have been with the U280.

We pull a 2011 Kia Sorento on a Kar Kaddy SS tow dolly.  No problem whatsoever.  Not sure what the total weight would be - probably around 3700 lbs for the car plus another 600 lbs for the dolly.  Coach handles it easily...nothing's broke yet!  8)
