Hi All!
This is my first post too.  I am not an owner - yet, but I am starting to look for a +/- 1990ish Grand Villa.  We used to have a 20' Layton trailer when the kids were small and had a blast with it and our friends.  Now we are starting to get ready for grandkids and want to do it right.  Back in the Layton days our friends had a 34' Winnebago and I always dreamed of getting a Wanderlodge when the day came.  In starting to look online at those, I came across the Grand Villa and was hooked!!!

Like I said I am just learning and when I saw this forum I thought this would be the perfect place to get some education.  I look forward to the interactions and please accept my apologies in advance for asking what I know are going to be some pretty stupid questions!

Welcome to to the FoFum. 

When I became enthralled with Foretravel I read every thread on this forum as well as everything that is here: Foretravel Specifications, Floor Plans, Photos & Brochures by Year

It did take a while and some might consider me mildly OCD as I sucked up everything FT I could find.

Good luck in your quest for knowledge and a FT of your own.

Roadcamper:  You have the right idea.  Best money is for a used Foretravel.  A friend purchased a new Thor product/problems from day one.  After two years of issues he sold and now has a used tiffin product.  Looks nice but he is still not happy.  If he had gotten a used Grand Villa to start with; he would have been pleased from the start.  He spent a lot more money than I have and is not happy.
Get what works for you.  Never plan to trade up later.  DAN

There are NO stupid questions.  Our very first rig was a '93 U225 ... we had never been in any sort of RV before, and we made EVERY mistake one could possibly think of. this Forum and the people here have been our lifeline!  We are now on our 3rd coach and loving it.  WELCOME!!

Hi Mark.
Welcome from one newbie to another.
I too am not an owner (yet).  I like what I have read about Foretravel, how they are built.  The fact that there are so many older coaches out there in such good shape must mean something.

This is definitely the right place to learn.  I have spent WAY too much time infront of the compute reading old posts.  Good stuff.

We should compare notes sometime LOL.

This weekend I have been invited to view one of the other forum members U295.  I am really looking forward to seeing a FT close up.

You're barking up the right tree w/ FT. Our 20 year old 40'er is a good dream. A work in progress, and a real comfort almost all the time. We still enjoy a home in TX, but this place rolling down the road to MD Anderson makes the trip a breeze. Be fearless and smart!  Good luck on you! Paul
