Running lites question.

Got a bad bulb up front, turn signal o.k., but no parking lite. A pain to replace from the back?  Anyone have a bulb #?  Thanks, M

I used to have it but no more but remember it came out of a late 70s ford van.

Remove the grill next to the light (4 phillips screws) if you don't want to crawl under or can't reach it from the small door just below the windshield. If I recall, it takes a 1/4 turn on the retainer collar to get the light holder loose.

If your HWH reservoir is up front like ours it is a good time to check the fluid level--after making sure the top around the ventilated fill cap is located. Should be 1" max below the lip, with the jacks up.

From Forum Search, consensus seems to be the headlight assembly is from 1987-1991 Ford Bronco or F150.  I'm guessing the bulb will be a 1157 or a 3157 - both  are commonly used for turn signal/running lights in that era.  Can't say for sure, because I haven't had to replace one...yet.

Thanks all, good info. The housing had that "you could make this worse" look. I'm recovering from a bad back, but the techs are coming on Mon. to replace the propane "sniffer" & I'll make them crawl around.  :))

Tech could not get the bulb holder out from underneath, despite the quarter turn. They figured it dried out over the years and the wire became loose, as well. They're going to get a junkyard bulb holder,  some new bulbs and splice new wires in. Forum members are correct on their memories: The bulb is a 3157,  the holder is from 1987 thru 1991, fits  Bronco & F-150. Thanks again. M
