Heading to the Southwest for January. Any recommended long-term sites?

Hello All,

We had such good results from recommendations on our last outing to the Badlands that we now won't make any material trips without running it by the forum!

We're going to head out in early January for the Phoenix area (friends in Gilbert). Right now, we are thinking we will be in the area for 3-5 weeks. We're looking at trying something new--staying in one location for about a month and doing the majority of our visits via day trips. The closest we have come to this is the eight days we spent in one location in the Badlands, and we liked that.

My preliminary look at Phoenix locations showed a large number of very highly rated RV resorts for big rigs. It's actually pretty overwhelming. Right now, we're going to focus on one of these resorts. We really liked the few days we spent at a comparable resort in Port St. Lucie, Florida. We're going to start looking at a level of $1,000-1,200 a month which would likely put most of these in the ball park. Some I immediately ruled out because they required a minimum stay of two months.

Has anyone here spent a longer time in the Phoenix area during the winter months? Would really like to hear any input from you "experts."

As always, your help is highly valued and we hope all are having safe travels.

I stayed in Mesa a few years ago.  I stated at two different places. Liked venture out as well as the place across the street but can't remember the name.
