Bedroom Window

Well I had a boo boo last Sunday dropping my unit off at TN Rv collision  to get the windshields  reset where they started shifting. Well as I was backing into a hole to get it out of the way my passsnger side bedroom awning bracket cought the left front bubble corner on a 33' fifth wheel that is in for repairs too.I hit it dead in the middle of a 3 color stripe too! If I'm gonna screw up I'm gonna do it right.Well my bedroom rear zip dee awning bracked ripped out of the coach,broke the top if the arm and bent the other side arm. It also bent my bedroom window frame some on the back edge. Who made these windows and are they still available? I am agitated with myself over this. I am a professional  truck driver with over a million miles and to have this happen in the parking lot of where else but a "collision center" is a kick in the ____! The dang coach survived 24 years intact until this happen, aaarrrgh!

Hey Stump,
As Jimmy Buffett said "breath in, breath out, and move on". sh__ happens, especially with coaches!
Not sure who made the windows, but I bet Foretravel has one in stock.  If not they will tell you who made them, just call parts.  I have had extremely good luck getting parts for my 1990 from them.  Not such good luck getting parts for my 96'.
They also carry the Zip Dee parts.

Also try Xtreme  they may have a take out from converting another coach to double pane.

 Sorry about the assault on your coach by a 5th wheeler. The parts fellow at TN RV body shop is "Ryan" as I recall. He can find most anything you want. They still love to work on Foretravels, there. Don't ask me how I know!
No RV! Have hung up the keys.

I don't know if they still make them exactly the same.  Word from a buddy who talked to them said they were very friendly and helpful.  He purchased lengths of replacement rubber seals that the glass rides on.  I got the impression from him that identifying the window type/style will be the most difficult part.  Photos and  cross section sketch might be helpful to send to them.  They will probably want the wall cut-out size too.  You can pull the retaining loop (held in with screws under a cosmetic rubber strip) on the inside to see the wall edge but be careful the window can now fall out if the sealing putty on the outside flange lets go.  Which I suppose could easily happen with it damaged.

If I were in the same situation I might consider replacing with a dual panes on both sides of the bedroom - most important windows to block noise.  I would consider this mishap as an "opportunity" to upgrade.  As long as the frames are black, I would think it would look fine from the outside.

At one time FT used Creation windows but I think that these were the double panes that creeped. Now would be a good time to go too double pane though, starting wi9th the bedroom.

Thanks ya'll ,I called Foretravel and they told me it was a Hehr window. They used that window from 1988-1996 so it's pretty popular. Based on my build number he gave me 2 part numbers depending on the width I wasn't sure. It really dosn't matter because Tn Rv is doing the repair.I have just always done my own work on everything and source parts at the wholesale level when I can to save money. I am sure Tn Rv will fix it up just fine and I can get back to using it again. My wife said she misses it not being in the back yard, I have to say I do too. It's kind of like our club house where we can go hang out, drink and listen to music. And when I'm home off the road sometimes I get to take a catnap in the recliner on a  afternoon. I guess we've been bitten by the Ft bug...

"Clubhouse" has a real nice ring to it, Stump. We feel the same way--like an escape module, ready to go. We had a little ding yesterday and recalled what a buddy told us years ago when we really tore up our new SOB: "If you'd left it in the driveway, this would not have happened."

You'll be running a l-o-n-g time before you wear it out!  Foretravels don't wear out, they just cost more and more to fix as they age like fine wine!

We regularly walk out to the coach have night caps and enjoy some old time TV and......zzzzzzzzzzz Oh, and the cats in the house sort of contribute to our exit..!

Always pees me to scar my equipment and after 45 years and 3 million miles I expect myself to be perfect... If it makes you feel any better Stump a friend of mind brought a box blade to my shop a couple months back in the bed of his new 1 ton dual Chevy.. about a 70 grand pick up.. I got on my new Case tractor with hydro stat trans mission and eased up to the tailgate which was down to pick up the box blade with a chain and bucket.. All is going smooth until my friend gives me thumbs up to lift the bucket... Don't ask me why I mashed the forward pedal on the hydrostat and ram into the back of his truck and not only that but also mash harder on the pedal after that.. His wife was sitting in the truck and i don't know how she escaped whiplash.. Mashing the forward pedal like a brake and bull dozing the whole operation about 5 ft forward .. Broke out a 245 dollar lite assembly on my new case and I don't know how it missed bending the mans tailgate.. Talk about hurt your pride. I had to get over this and you have to get over that.. If money can fix it it ain't a big thing Stump.

 :))  Good line! As good as "first one's free". Our Airstream was cherry when we bought her twenty-five years ago, over the years, things happened. The funny part is I could tell you where and when the "oops" happened, and who was at fault. (Me). No sense blaming the DW, that means sleeping under the coach.

My 1995 U280 had dual pane peninsula glass windows that were installed, they were real nice, I had no window creep and they opened and closed easy. I think they are in Washington state. They may have what you need if interested, someone else may be able to shed so more light on these windows. I just know all mine were changed and they were nice quality.

When we had our coach repainted at Xtreme, we had all our old Creation windows replaced with Peninsula ones (all double pane).
The Peninsula windows ("Motion Windows" is their brand) are vastly superior to the old ones.  Now Nancy doesn't ever ask me to help slide the windows open or closed!  The Creation windows were mighty stiff.

I called Foretravel (James Triana, of course) and they had the original Bill of Materials for the Creation windows on our coach, which listed all window sizes, and I used that to put together the order for Peninsula.  I did pull the clamp ring off the door window since Rance at Xtreme said he remembered that the cutouts were a little large when they manufactured the coach, but all sizes were OK.
