NO start condition (and solution)

One of the worst things is to try and start your DP and you get nothing. That recently happened to me. So I first checked my dash solenoid and that seemed fine. I then removed cleaned and reinstalled battery cables. Still no start. Checked for power and nothing at the starter. I then went to the isolator and relays on the drivers side rear. I found a loose connection and once tightened she fired right up. I cleaned and tightened all connections at the rear of the coach. Then I sprayed the connections with that red battery stuff don't remember whats its called. Also sprayed battery connections. I was amazed at the amount of dirt that collects on a long trip and overtime. The rear of the coach gets a lot of bouncing and connections will loosen up. Hopefully this reminder will help prevent a problem when you lease expect it. Merry Christmas and travel safe.

I know the feeling: we'd only had the coach a week and went to start her.......NADA. Went to the dark side, of course. Sitting there in my chair wondering where to begin and noticed a rocker switch that said "transmission". Flicked it on, hit the key: BINGO!  I later learned the PO before the PO had installed it. Sure freaked me out!

Mike,

Must have been a really sneaky dude.

Or, having worked with Allison techs, he gave the Allison ECM a dedicated direct battery connection.  Less voltage fluctuation, less electronic noise and a GREAT ANTI-THEFT DEVICE.

I agree, next week is our 1 year anniversary with this dear, and THAT SNEAKY DUDE is responsible for her running so sweet.  I had heard "The Curmudgeon" was refused  a sale from FT 'cause all he did was tear them apart and make them better.  ^.^d
