Yellow stop engine light

Cranked up my 97 U320 today and the yellow stop engine light is on. Drained the fuel filter- no water. I suspect either oil pressure sending unit or coolant level sensor? All the dash gauges show normal operation. Where are the oil pressure sending units? I've read in here there are two. One for dash and one for ECU.

The one that failed on my M11 was sort of below and behind the Air conditioner compressor.  There are schematics that show that location.  Mine needed a 1-1/4" crow foot wrench.  There is not enough room to use a socket to reach the sensor.

What does the sensor that triggers the stop engine light on the M11 actually sense?

That one is the oil pressure signal to the ECM.  there is another oil sensor that sends a signal to the gauge on the dash

Usually the engine stop parameters are:
Low oil pressure
Low coolant level
High coolant temperature

On my coach the stop engine light is red.
The check engine light is yellow and will come on when the ECM detects a variance to one of the multitude of engine parameters. These can be hard faults or just transient anomalies.

Stop Engine light on my 2001 is red as well. Check Engine light is yellow.  Lots of reasons for the yellow light.  If you can connect to the diagnostic port (any diesel shop should be able to do this or if you have VMSpc) you can read the codes sent by the engine computer.

I noticed the positive post on my starting battery was loose. Took it off and put back on and the stop engine light went away....go figure

Yup, intermittent voltage/voltage spikes can really mess up a computer controlled engine.
