Fan screen removal

Want to pull it for cleaning, I notice two latches that open and close the "flappers". Do those come off with the screen or pop-off before removal? Thanks, M

The latches that open the louvers are part of the metal assembly-- all one assembly.

Be sure to note the orientation of the louver assembly AND the two retainer plastic pieces that secure the cover.

So, it's just the screen that comes down, or are there suprises lurking up above? Thanks, Brett, M

Remove the grill assembly along with the two "cover retainers".

That will give you access to clean the fan blades and housing, even the top section.  Been there, done that.  409 and paper towels work well!

We'd let the cleaning go a little long. Gentle use of rubbing alcohol did the job!  b^.^d
