Rear Camera Coax

Does anyone know what the size of the original coax is for my 2002 U320 rear camera? I want to re-use it (the coax only) for a new rear camera set up? RG-? I would think.  I can't take anything apart just now to check for myself. The guy at RVcams needs this before he will recommend a system for me.

My onageristic estimate is RG-59 coaxial cable.

I have no independent knowledge of the actual coax in your Foretravel.

On my 2002 U270, the rear camera is not coax.  It is a panasonic camera with a 7 wire DIN connector.  I cut the connector off and used a couple of the wires in parallel to run my signal back from the camera to the front of the coach.  The picture shows the cable (black) after I cut off the connector.  The original wire has power, ground and signal for the camera.  I got my power from my unused bedroom clock wire.

My 1997 has RG59  I added a new color camera and it works perfect.

In the picture that Rick posted looks like one of the wires is shielded so I bet you could use that one to get the signal to the front.

Well I just assumed it was coax as I thought I remembered seeing one in and around the dash monitor screen wiring the last time I was in there. Oh well...thanks

IIRC, my coax had BNC connectors on each end. In fact, it seems we had a discussion of which type of BNC connector was on each end, so I could get  RCA-BNC adapters.

I am pretty sure that USAF F-4 Phantom monitor used BNC connectors.

I tried using the old cable with new ends soldered on but wound up ordering a new cable and pulling it.  The wire in the old cable was really small.

Although it wasn't rocket science it was a lot of climbing through bays and under the coach.  I'm glad I did it that way. Picture is pretty good.  Had a friend show up while I was doing it and that made it much easier.

Mines an 02 U320 as well.  There's a write up on here somewhere about it.

Good luck.
