OEM Monitor Removal

I have successfully removed my original monitor. It was not easy and not for the faint of heart. Will write a report soon.

The back of the monitor chassis had a black heat sink with a voltage regulator and some additional wiring. I do not remember seeing this described previously. Was it a modification or upgrade of some kind added to the monitor module?

I have enclosed two pictures of the module. Anyone got any ideas about this?

Thanks,

Trent

Trent,
I am not sure what type of ideas you are looking for, but here is a link to a topic with a few pictures of what I did. In brief, I removed the Audit monitor CRT and reused the aluminum tray that supported it to mount a Mac mini computer running VMware for the VMSPC system. A 7" high res monitor is mounted to the tray in front of the Mac and covers the opening where the old monitor screen was. The monitor has an HDMI input that I run the back up camera into and a Mini Display port input that the mac connects too. My setup also includes an overhead monitor which can show either the Mac or backup camera as well and is switched by a 4X2 matrix HDMI switcher.

I hope that is useful...
