Nancy,

It would really surprise me if a 1987 Foretravel was originally painted at the factory.

Do you know who painted it?

Even if you knew the original paint code you probably want to have a really good paint shop (like Xtreme) look at it. Whatever it was, time and sun will change the color. A good paint shop will match it exactly.

I've not seen a coach painted that way, but everything seems to match. When you say, 'touch-up', do you mean the lower skirting? The pic looks familiar, Oregon?

Mike - you're right.  Looks like a pic of a coach that former forum member posted a while back....

Well, I was close, we miss that country (in the spring/summer/fall). Are you in that area? There are some hot shots in Oregon off I-5 that could take a look-see. Let us know where you'd like to have the work done & the forum can chime-in.

Gary, So do you think that both yours and Nancy's coach were factory-painted at the skirting?

Mike, I know for a fact that that lower skirt was painted by a local shop for the prior owner. The shop owner had a mustang and that is why they used that color. Shop owner has recently retired so I don't have access to his color chips. I believe ( but can't prove ) that FT used the same color on the older coaches as a part of the design that included an orange and a brown in the striping.

I watched a paint pro tie-in to a small area of a coach that had some work. He had a bunch of dixie cups and would mix and try. Each try, he'd clean the gun and spray, until he got it right.
When he was done, there was NO WAY I could tell what was what.  ^.^d

If you are looking to do it yourself, call around and find an auto paint supplier that has a camera for matching paint. Tell them you what you are wanting to use the paint for and they should be able to fix you up.
