Jacknife Sofa vs Magic Bed

After sleeping on my jacknife sofa for 2 nights last weekend,"I had let my in laws have our bed",
It isn't comfort at all,has a sinkhole and I think I want to replace it down the road. What's the difference in the Jacknife and a magic bed.I have to have a sofa style that works like the jacknife because of the space. Any recommendations?

We have found that an Aero Bed (air mattress with built in pump) on top of the "jack knife bed" is a helpful solution. Our sofa is not bad without a "topper," but some kind of topper can be helpful for "grownups."

We put one of the egg crate toppers in a sheet that was velcroed closed and put it on top of the sofa when my MIL traveled with us a couple times.

If you have the room, we found this to be the best of the bunch: Hemshaw | Flexsteel.com

Flat surface in bed position and comes with electrically inflatable good quality air mattress.
