Removing My Audit 8T8 System

In addition to replacing the rear camera with a color camera, I am replacing the monitor with a color LCD panel. I am also replacing the old tank monitors with a new SeeLevel system.

Looking at the Audit Systems Monitor - 8T8 wiring diagram (A-2701.05), I see two other functions, the compass and the temperature. Since I have never understood the compass (it always shows a circle, with North at the top, and an arrow head pointing straight up), I see no utility in that function. The center of that circle displays the ambient (?) temperature; not useful to me.

Is there any other need to keep the Audit 8T8 system, or the PCM (if I have one)? It looks like with the new monitor and camera, together with re-purposing the dash switches, I have solved my backup camera problem. With the SeeLevel system, I am improving the tank gauge system.

Or am I oversimplifying things and overlooking an important function of the Audit 8T8?

Thanks for any and all feedback,

Trent
