Sealand traveller vacuum breaker

I have a small water clean water leak behind the toilet. The leak is in the top of the vacuum breaker and I can't get to it without removal. Can I just screw the plastic nut out of the back of the toilet bowel to remove it?

I have not had to work on mine but I think it is just pushed into the hole. Did you do a search to find out?

It just pushes into a rubber grommet I'm the back just carefully pull it out.

Thanks. I ended up removing to bowl to be able to pull on it square enough to get it free.

New issue is that the picture just show a straight piece of pipe on the breaker the one I removed has a threaded piece to use to expand the rubber seal in the bowl. Any idea if that's just a poor picture? The part number is correct

Maybe just an update on the design. Do not think it would be a problem myself as long as the rubber ring is tight.

Replaced my toilet last year after finding a foot valve leak during a tile job.  The new toilet has a smooth pipe as did the one I removed.  (Pic included if I can figure out how to get it posted)

That picture helps a lot, the black rubber is different from what I took out it has a shoulder to stop it from going right through the hole. The one I removed had no shoulder and relied on crushing the ring to expand it. The pictures of the kits weren't clear enough to see that.

Sealand made a change around 1998-1999 that affected the height of the ceramic bowl, vacuum breaker ceramic hole, in-bowl overflow holes and other things. 

When we bought a new Sealand Toilet, we did not like the taller bowl, so we re-used just the original bowl with all the other new parts.  We now have to use the vacuum break designed for the older bowl.

Earlier vacuum breaker has longer reach & is held in place differently, and is different than later part, and is harder to find.
Many owners and sellers are not aware of the changes and sometimes recommend wrong part.

@Barry & Cindy is it safe to say that the two different mounting to the bowl styles are not compatible or is it a more along the lines of try it and beware. I did find an online parts manual but all the kits with that number do not have the crush style rubber seal

Two types of vacuum breaks are not compatible.  Both are available.  I think toilets with the two inside-bowl overflow holes use the older style vacuum break.
