Water temperature fluctuations

While showering I notice wild temp fluctuations from extreme hot to cold. Is this the tempering valve that has to be adjusted? If so which way do I turn it ?

I would think the valve is sticking and needs to be cleaned out if that is possible.

Peter,  Turn the tempering valve all the way each way 3 or 4 times.  Return to where you started or midway.

Righty, tighty is cooler.  Lefty, loosey is warmer.  Adjust 1/8 to 1/4 turn till happy with temp.  I set it to between 115 and 120 with a meter.

If this does not fix it, get a new valve from the internet.  Just unscrew the nut holding the valve in the body and replace the guts.  No need to solder the new body into place.

The RV specialist who replaced my coils replaced the tempering valve(new) it should not be sticking so I will adjust it (righty) and turn the hot down. Will this solve the hot to cold hot to cold thing though?

On our last trip my wife and I noticed a temperature fluctuation that kinda coincided with the pump.
I'll try exercising the tempering valve .

It could also be the shower cartridge that's going bad if it's only the shower doing that.
You could possibly remove the cartridge and soak it in vinegar then reinstall and see if that works.
