Lithium Batteries, First Real Test

Just spent 6 days at Sturgis. Always dry camp at National campground. Generator ran a total of 6 hours. My house batteries preformed better than I had hoped. Very happy camper. The wife is happy because she hates the sound of the gen running.

The electric demand is house refrigerator/basement refrigerator/coffe maker-twice a day/toaster/watching approx 2 hrs of tv at night/normal lights etc.

You and I must have had the only 2 Foretravels out there. I got a bunch of comments on my 91, had a guy wanted to buy it so he could paint it up to look like a Mad Max Zombie Apocalypse Escape vehicle. I told him for the right price he could paint to look like a daisy if he wanted! We camped at the Full Throttle Saloon.

How big is your battery bank and who is the manufacturer?

I think you are right. Our spot is 6 miles north of Custer. Just 15 sites. Been reserving same spot since 2001.

Sounds great- keep us informed about how they perform over time.  Sounds like you have a great bank of lithium batteries.

Darrell, do you gave a battery monitor that gives you qualitative infor?  How many amp-hrs in, amp-hrs out, state of charge, level of discharge?  That sort of stuff.  This sounds good but some of us techno babble heads like data.  Here is Peter F working on his 400 amp alternator.
