Bedroom lighting problem.

I'm getting flack from the DW about the lights above the bed. They are hard to read by, to say the least. Is there a stronger bulb I can get (I'd like to keep the fixture) or do I start over?

That bulb looks shot-- no longer clear.

From my old records: Install two new Gustavson lamps over bed 4/7/03. Uses 921 bulb (18 watt)

Thanks, Brett, your copious files have saved my day.  Had wondered about the color. Damn good bulb to last that long, though it must have faded with age, as we all do. ^.^d

Several outfits sell LED bulbs with that base, and some of them are probably brighter than the bulb that was there. Might be worth checking out.

Was not able to find any LED bulbs to match the "regular" bulb's 265 lumens.  Anyone else find one?

I am having the same problem with replacing lighting in our kitchen-- 3 48" fluorescent recessed fixtures.  Trying to find LED's that match the OE bulb's CW 3050 lumens.

Here are a few that have about that output--but the color temperature may or may not be satisfactory for your intended use.

Kinda off topic but I use a Kindle and Carol uses her Droid phone.  We have retired paper books.  We rarely use the ceiling or wall slights in the BR.

Yes, I went to that website.  But could not find any to match the OD 's 265 lumens.

And, again, if anyone knows of brighter LED replacements for standard 48" florescent bulbs (OE bulbs are 3050 lumen each) would sure like to explore it-- going to buy something this afternoon.  Dianne said no light in kitchen, no dinner.  Nuff said!

I have used Cabin Bright leds in almost every room of our coach.  Very happy with the light and ease of installation.
I have replaced all of the thin light florescent bulbs with Cabin Bright LED strips-love them.

921 base: WARM WHITE at 4500K. 275 lumens. Amp draw is approximately .22A.

"Warm white" doth not get it; both of us are graphic artists and 6400 kelvin (daylight) is what we're looking for, and if I could find them, I'd replace ALL of our lights.

Just came from our local W-Mart. They had a 921 that I looked at seriously. But, like you, I wasn't sure of the Lumen / Kelvin numbers so I walked.

Seems to me, florescent lights are "old and in the way" ; the big boxes don't have 6400 kelvins, we have to run "cool whites" and they are all made in China, which, when you full-time, last a couple of months. I'd sure like to find an American-made source of lights, but it's prolly "dream-on". Thanks, Dan.

Mike, I've had good experience with these guys: LED Retrofit Light Bulbs for RVs and Trailers

I bought LED's to replace the incandescent bulbs on those reading lights. I got 'warm white' and they are fine.

Edited to add, I found them from the RV Geeks website. Lot's of great info there. If you scroll down they offer a 5% coupon code at M4.
