C0-Pilots seat electrics??

My co-pilots seat was never operated by my  dear departed wife, and today I was resting and messed with it!!  I got the leg rest to come up, although slowly, and it will not go down, and in fact all the electrical functions have failed on that seat!!  From now on I will leave things alone!!

Anyone had fun with these seats in the  past and have any ideas??  Flexsteel I believe in a 2001 40ft U320??

Do other seat functions work? If not  - check the back of the seat- it is easy to unplug - you will see a white plug with two wires that has a disconnect in it

as for the leg rest - it is a leg rest, not a "leg lift" - the gears that drive the leg rest up are plastic and easily stripped. - in that condition however, it is sometimes possible to coax it back down except it likes to retract unevenly.

Likely different from my seats in the 94 but when the drivers seat was able to forward and not backward and the little one slid the seat all the way forward I took the controls from the other seat and got the seat to return

To follow up on Tim's excellent suggestion, if the electric functions do not operate after verifying that the seat plug in seated in the coach wiring end, separate the connection and check for 12+ VDC on the coach side of the wiring.

The 2001 U320 pass seat foot rest is driven by a 12 volt motor using enclosed gears to turn a threaded rod that raises and lowers the foot rest. We took our drive motor out. As these seats age and sag a bit it pokes you in the butt.

The wires for these seats can get snagged when you rotate the seat and the plugs pulled partially out or all the way out. Make sure it is plugged in securely. It is also possible to pull a wire out of the plug.  The passengers seat circuit breaker behind the panel directly in front of the passenger's seat is #48, feeding a white wire labeled 95.  It looks like that same wire goes directly to the seat base.

Mine did not work when I got it , the power came unhooked from turning seat around, Made wires longer so it did not happen again

Thank you everyone,

Not sure what I did but this morning I hit the switch and it retracted and all functions now work as advertised??  Last night two of us played with it, and zilch, but this morning all is well and the only difference is that I was not sitting on it???  No comments needed re weight!!
I am off home this morning and will get under the seat and check all the connections later .
Thank you all for the brains that I needed to solve it. This site is awesome, just ask a silly, or not, question and the answers flow.

No sit-on deadman switch like there is on my tractor. It will motivate loaded or not.

If wiggling and fussing made it all work then it is likely a plug issue.  Try putting a bit (a very small bit) of electrical grease on the pins to make sure they make good contact in the sockets.

Yup,  I am now home and will have a good look at the connections.

The seat has never been moved in four years until I messed with it last night.  I think DDW thought that it might be an ejection seat so would not touch anything!!!
