Towbar dog-proof cover

We are staying at a friend's place for a while, and one of his dogs found our vinyl towbar cover a little too tasty, and within one day a corner was chewed off.

We were more concerned that the dogs could damage the towbar's expanding rubber weather boot.

We are happy to share our 'patent-pending' solution with the attached photos.

That will work .  :D

There is a spray product called Bitter Yuck that is all natural, odor free, non-staining and alcohol free. Dogs and cats hate it and will not lick of chew anything you spray it on. It is so safe you can even spray it directly on hot spots to stop your fun kid from licking .

Trent,

I was  looking for an inexpensive idea, and walking Lowe's aisles, found a length of 6" round sheet metal pipe, that is sold flat and has to be rounded.  I cut the pipe down to size first with a metal shear before rounding, and then cut shorter after rounding with a Dremel cut-off blade.

The crimped end is covered with an off-the-shelf black end-cap that is sold to close off any exhaust pipe, but my pipe is not double-walled

We also protected our electric cord with a couple 10' lengths of inexpensive thin-wall PVC where I Dremel cut-out about 3/4" lengthwise slot which allowed us to snap the PVC over the shore cable.  Lowe's  identifies the pipe as item #23993, 1-IN x 10-FT 200-PSI $3.02.
