Towing Lights Converter Box

Our toad lights work as they should with one exception: the right brake light on the toad doesn't illuminate. I traced the issue to the little converter doohickey at the back of the rig - the one that converts the rig's separate system to the toad's combined system. Anyone have a plug and play make and model? Here's mine. It's labeled a TAP 400. Thanks.

Converters are sold at almost all auto parts stores and even in places like Walmart!
They convert five wire systems to four wire systems.
IE: coach--Left turn, right turn, brake, running, and ground--five wires.
Toad--Left turn/brake, right turn/brake, running, and ground--four wires.
The four wire systems use 1157 bulbs (or similar) with two filaments--one filament for running phase and one brighter filament for turn/brake. And then you need a wire for a common ground between the two vehicles.
The five wire/international lighting system uses separate bulbs for brake and separate bulbs for turn and separate bulbs for running. Hence the five wire system. One wire--left, one wire--right, one wire--brake, one wire--running, one wire--ground.

Thanks. I'll pick one up. the way this one is wired, the coach's brake, r turn and l turn go to the box and two wires exit to the tow plug. The running lights and ground bypass the converter.

I had problems with the $20-$30 converters failing repeatedly. Finally put in a heavy duty Roadmaster Bright Lite and has worked flawlessly for 5 years. It is about $60

X2 Bob's comment.  Don't buy the garden variety converter-get heavy duty for sure.
