Road draft ("slobber") tube

I've spent way too much time trying to  install a new grommet and elbow.  I've used silicone, clamp and finally a hammer and ended up destroying the grommet.  If anyone has successfully installed one, I could use some advise.  I've already tried installing grommet first and grommet with elbow - no luck.

If you mean where the grommet goes into the valve cover, try heating the grommet(hot water or microwave) and/or Armor all.

Grommet goes in first. Lubrication is a must. Using a heat gun after the grommet is in place would help also. The elbow must start without pushing the grommet in. Taper the elbow if it can be tapered more. Twisting motion obviously.

Silicon spray didn't work, but I will try the grease and heating the grommet is a good idea as well.  Just have to find time to buy another grommet.
