Faucet

I'm cleaning up my wet bay area and am looking for a replacement faucet. This is a 270 and has the standard RV exterior shower deal which is just a 4" center faucet with a shower cord and wand like we have in our inside showers. I would like to install a faucet that would allow me to simply connect a 4' garden hose. This is the only thing I've been able to find. Anyone replace theirs with something similar? Thanks.

John, our factory installed bay faucet has a fitting where the hose attaches.  I removed fitting, installed a Tee added a male garden hose fitting that has a cap on it when not using a garden hose.  So now we have the same original faucet & hose for spraying and we also have a way to attach any garden hose.

Last year I found on EBay a quick disconnect male and female set ...whereby the male is threaded for the outside water faucet on my 2002 U320. That makes it easy to attach a garden to the faucet.

John, your photo shows the same faucet we have.  I unscrewed the top hose connection, went to Lowe's and found brass fittings to screw on to make a Tee. 

Motorhome is parked, so no photos today. 

Bottom of Tee attaches to top of faucet.  Original hose attaches to top of Tee.  Outward facing port on brass Tee has a male hose thread connection, which normally is sealed off with a plastic female hose thread 'cap'.  To connect hose, remove 'cap', attach hose, turn on water, extra handy if wanting warm/hot water flowing in a hose.

We have never removed our original faucet.

This has worked for us for over 10 years, and quite practical as by far most of the time we just use the original sprayer hose, and seldom connect a hose.  If a hose is used a lot, the male hose threads could have a quick-disconnect fitting or gas-ball-valve.

Got it. Thanks. Figured I'd have to replace mine but this sounds like a good way to go.

Finding a good quality wall mount faucet with four inch centers proved to be a challenge back when I redid the utility bay. I installed this unit:
Equip by T&S 5F-4WLX06 6 1/8" Wall Mount Swivel Faucet with 4" Centers
I found an adapter that went from the aerator thread to garden hose and used that for hooking up a hose. I may eventually get a different swivel nozzle for it that has garden hose thread and a vacuum breaker built in.

I ended up getting the faucet that I posted originally. It has a quick connect so now I can use a 4' hose which is hanging in the adjacent compartment (reels). I may leave the top panel off so the tank plumbing is easily inspected. Either that or maybe attach it with a couple of wing nuts.

That looks very nice John.  I am so fortunate to have three folks with the same year 270 that are so capable in modifying and rehabing to model future projects.

Yea, it goes to the wet tank. There was one on the other side too which I removed. Could use it to access the air system or air up the rig when being towed.

I installed the Regency - very nice looking compared to the pitted OEM faucet.  I have to find out how to attach a garden hose when I get that far down on my list.  I've only used the outside faucet on a coach once:  When our boxer/lab was young it found an irresistible pile of excrement (didn't appear to be dog) that needed to be rolled in.  At that moment the faucet was the most important feature of the motorhome.

It also works well for filling the small inflatable pool we bring for Annabelle. If it's a really good  or bad night depending on how you see it you might find me in the pool at sun up.

I had the stock fancy dancy faucets on my 300 and 320. For me, it was not a good fit. I was forever trying to shut the compartment door on that long spout. For me, the hose pigtail works better. As DaveM used to say...
