Air Tank Switch - ?

It appears that our "Air Tank" switch, that can be used to fill the air tanks with out starting the engine, is engaged. 

I started the engine today to re-level and noticed that the tanks were both 90+lbs.  Our aux. comp. only runs a couple of times a day for about 1 min. 20 sec. per cycle.  I have noticed this before but have not wanted to deal with it.  We will be at HWH mid August so can have it taken care of there.

Has any one replaced this switch or maybe the solenoid on the Aux. comp.??

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There are two solenoids ,and the one one port b is the one that supplied the air to your wet tank, that one could be leaking a bit.
Not that hard to change. The other solenoid is the one on the water trap valve also ease to replace

Thanks Rob -

Looking at HWH Drawing # MR05.5401 - Item #12 shows 2 "Check Valve"(s) and Item # 20 shows 1 "Solenoid Valve-Normally Closed".  There are also 2 solenoids, normally open # 3, one of them being on the bottom of the filter assy the other close to the "check valve".

I have sent HWH an email asking for clarification.

In the meantime I think I will try to pull solenoid # 20 and # 3-close to check valve,  clean it out and check functionality.

We replaced the solenoid and an associated check valve for the air tank switch in 2011.  I think Steve posted about it; not sure if it's still on the forum or not.

Spent some "Search" time and found this.  Might be interesting to others.

Help Auxilary air pump is keeping all my service air tanks full

Update:

Just received from Joe Portelli from HWH.

"The little air compressor is not designed nor is it plumbed into those tanks. There is another tank you have in the coach (I believe it is a 5 gallon tank) that the air compressor feeds for your air seals and maybe if you have one an air awning and an air toilet. But that is all this tank is for. The other tanks you are reading are for your brakes and suspension. The other thing the small air compressor is for is to help keep you level when you use the air leveling. The system will rob air from your auxiliary tank and there is a check valve in the system to keep us from feeding that tank and only allow the air to go to air bags to keep you level.
Hopefully that makes sense? But from your description it sounds like everything is working as designed. "

I'm not sure that Joe is right on this subject ,If you follow line 76 you will see where it feeds to . And yes there is a 3 tank also indicated on my schematic. Hope this will help

Thanks Rob for posting the drawing.  I was going to get it out today and review.  I think you are right.

It appears that Line # 76 feeds the Wet Tank.  I will take a look for that solenoid that is controlled by the Air Tank Switch after I check the switch itself.

Got a replacement rocker switch at FT and replaced the switch as well and swapped the "Air Tank" yellow label.  While the DW was activating the switch I could feel the solenoid #20 - normally closed - functioning.  Will monitor the Front and Rear air tanks and see if the PSIs go down.  Clearly this solenoid when opened does fill the Front and Rear Air Tanks.
