Re: Air pocket in Aqua Hot fuel filter

Chris,
Starting with air in fuel line but the supply fuel line air tight from the fuel tank to the burner, turn the Diesel Burner Switch ON for two seconds and then to OFF. During the shut down purge cycle of about 2 or 3 minutes, the fuel pump should suck fuel from the tank through the fuel filter and through the fuel pump. When the air in the pump is replaced with fuel, the pump will load and the tone of the burner will change. You can hear the change in tone. If the burner stop before the tone changes, repeat the process a second time.
Once the tone changes, let it continue to run till it shuts down to stabilize the fuel pressure. Turn Diesel Burner Switch back ON and burn should start and in 20 to 30 seconds fire.
If no change in tone, you still have an air leak in fuel line. Check fuel filter gaskets for being good and snug but not over tightened. Tightening the filter with a filter wrench will distort the gaskets creating an air leak. Lube gaskets with diesel fuel or vaseline before installing and hand tightening.
Connecting a separate fuel source directly to the burner and running it successfully would confirm air leak on fuel supply line.
