The cable stretches over time and can be tightened (adjusted) at the center connection. One of these days I will do that. Quote Selected

Re: stuck driver side engine cover latch Reply #4 – September 30, 2016, 03:05:36 pm Push in hard on corner with latch to relieve pressure and then use something to pull cable or even give normal handle a sharp pull. If all else fails maybe lift bed and manually release latch from behind door. After all some have got into a motorhome where the front door lock is stuck, lifting bed from the engine compartment, why not do the reverse. Quote Selected 3 Likes

The latch had actually worn out and the cam piece would not open. SOOO I had to have my wife crawl over the engine and disconnect the mechanism. After that it was easy. I have a great wife!
