Sad to see these fine old coaches when they approach the bottom of the depreciation curve. That '88 probably sold for around $140,000 new, so at $1800 it's at the 1% line. The expense of putting it back in first class, safe driveable condition would be off-putting to most prospective buyers (except perhaps JohnH).
We bought our '93 for 10% of original price. I believe the 10% line is the "sweet spot" in the curve. When you start out with a well built, quality product like a Foretravel, buying at that level can provide a totally useable, roadworthy coach that's ripe for "personalization" at manageable cost.
