Remote start, second ATS Questions

Reworking the circuits at the engine and have two questions.

1.  The schematics show both ATS at the foot of the bed.  I am replacing the first to repeat Chucks efforts with Blue Sea switch.  I want to remove the second downstream from the panel but can't find it.  Where should I look?

2.  Working on replacing isolator with Perko switch and have a question on the two solinoids.  Is the remote start used enough in the shops to warrant keeping it?

The boost circuit will be replaced with a larger cable running to a three way switch in the house battery area allowing the generator to be engaged from starter batterys, house, or both.  Each bank is now solar charged/maintained with starter bank capable of receiving 6amps.

Thanks for your insight!

Remote start came in handy for me recently.  I was having trouble with the starter not turning over.  Tightened battery terminals, checked relays etc but found no problems.  While pressing the remote start, sparks could be seen at the starter cable connection.  Tightened that up and everything is fine.  I never would have seen the problem from the drivers seat.  That's the only time I've ever "needed" it but I would vote to keep the remote start if possible.

Our primary ATS is on the driver's side in the basement.  Our secondary is at the foot of the bed.

Have used remote start after oil changes and one time when the fuel filter was sucking air.  😃

Howdy George and Steph,
On our model ('00 U320) both ATS's are located at the foot of the bed.  I "think" your year/model coach uses the "internal" ATS of the inverter.  That is: there is not a 2nd ATS.  Hopefully, Barry and Cindy, will log in.  They have same year/model as yours.
Good luck, Dave A

Dave if it is the internal to the inverter that would be great as that was why I wanted to remove it as the new inverter is internal.  Opened the first switch and what I found was really impressive but clearly the genset side had been replaced before and was now wired with marine wire.  Something went wrong on that side that resulted in replacement of it and the Freedom in the past.

Dave & Nancy have it correct as you only have one ATS..  Looks like you have the wrong electrical diagrams for your coach.  BTW, we think the ATS-100 in our coach is a good safe switch and has replaceable contacts.

Thanks Barry.  The schematic sheet for these circuits might be for 295 as well.  I know the others are good as I have been using them successfully and they have been invaluable on the rest of the project.  BTW they are the same scanned set I emailed you a few months back.  Thanks for the first hand on the ATS.  I don't know the history on the obvious repair and replacement of the gen set side on ours.  But it was a nice piece of work.
