Bay Doors/Bottom Latches

I recently began replacing gaskets. After the first one I climbed in and had DW close the door to check for gasket contact. I was quite surprised to see the lower latches were barely engaging the catch. All were 1/8" or less. It was very obvious after 20 years due to the wear pattern. I am raising all of my latches 3/16" and now have a more solid latch/catch connection.

Bob,

What are you using to get the 3/16" height increase?

Are you using any adhesive on the gasket material?

Thanks,

I had extra G10 1/16"plastic left over from basement repairs and laminated three pieces together with contact cement. Easy and quick.

I am wrapping the gasket material around the frame, starting vertically on the downstream side bottom, ending horizontally on the bottom, with one glue joint at the corner. If there is any daylight in the corners a dap of Permatex Adhesive Sealant Black Silicone does the trick.
