Porch Entry Light Question

My porch light quit and needs fixed.

I'm on my way now to get a couple of new bulbs at the Homeless Depot.  In the event that the new bulbs don't fix the problem...............are those two rivet heads that are visible behind the bulbs what are attaching the ballast behind the aluminum plate?

If one bub is out then neither work.  I just pulled the guts out and put in 10" or so of warm white LED strip.  Perfect.  Soldered the connections for reliability.

Actually mine was acting up similarly in that I would turn on the light, but then I'd have to reach outside and tap the lens once and
the light would come on.  However, yesterday it failed to do so........................but two new bulbs were the fix.

BTW, with all the fixes that have been taking place lately with your coach your handle should be coachbucksore.

I switched over to LED light strips after reading that they operate on a wave length that does not attract bugs.
Worked for us--no more bug conventions above our door.

Fluorescents lights are not incandescent.

Cool white LEDs are more attractive to bugs.  The lower Kelvin temp LEDs (warm white) are less attractive to bugs just like a yellow lens or bulb.  And they are cooler than non LED lights.  Most bugs are attracted to heat.

I replaced my porch light with a King LED Bluetooth Speaker Light, now I can stream tunes outside under my awning and change the color of the porch light.

You may have a very good point there! (But it does keep me out of the pool hall)

I had long occurring similar problems and after some searching i was able to find a direct LED replacement for the ThinLite 162A florescent porch light.  Via amazon i purchased "Thin-Lite OEM-LED162AP Weather Proof LED Ramp & Entry Light - Amber Lens" and it was a one for one replacement. I now have a bright LED.  It was a little pricey, but after replacing about a half dozen florescent tubes it was worth it.  Check out the link below..
