Newbie Basement Door Key Question

All the basement door electric actuators work ok but if one of the actuators fails we'd like to also have a key.  We received 2 sets keys including the key fob, ignition, entry door latch handle and entry door deadbolt keys.  We also have 2 or 3 different random keys one of which fits the slide out control panels.

Do the basement locks have their own key or should the entry door latch key fit them too?

Thanks!

Mark, the key for the entry door latch (not the deadbolt) should fit your bay door latches.  They keys in the latches raerly get used so the key locks in the bay doos may need some lube.  The keys turn about 45° each way to lock and unlock to bay door.

If you only have one key then get several spares made.

As Roger posts above, try some lube in each lock. The little red wand that comes with most spray lubes works well. I used some on our car last week and the key goes in easier and the locks turn much better now.

Our compartment locks are different from our entry door key.

Make sure you press it all the way in also. Broke a key as I was trying to get it turned .. realized it was not in that last 1/16" .. wiggle and push all the way

Success!!  Had some silicone spray lube with a red tube.  After applying to each lock, worked key back and forth.  All of them are now turning freely.

Thanks so much!

Stay on top of keeping them lubed. Bays that are not used frequently, like the gen-set locks can dry out quickly.

I've had the best results with a product called Lock Eze a locksmith pal of mine told me to use it on the MH because of the water and road grime. It's a graphite base so you get dry lubrication, once a year I do all my locks.  ^.^d

Cool.  Amazon has it.  I'll grab a can next time I shop.
